Visuals to present yourself!
Much of my work focuses on digital or printed products, but sometimes a story needs to be told face-to-face. Not all of us are natural public speaker, but good visuals can do a lot of the heavy lifting. Whether it’s a full conference booth or a single banner, they should always help to tell your story!
Moving from pilot to roll-out
ENGIE PowerCorner had been experimenting in Tanzania with minigrids: locally produced solar energy systems that power entire villages, without relying on expensive connections to the national grid. By 2021, several pilot projects had been successfully completed and the time to scale up had come. However, this required buy-in from national authorities who were largely focused on centralised grid solutions.
I was asked to help translate those pilot successes into a clear and credible story. Time was limited, and the audience was sceptical, so the presentation needed to be concise, but visually strong.
It was only one presentation, so claiming impact would be a stretch. Still, it is encouraging to see that today, more than 23,000 households in Tanzania are supplied by 68 registered minigrids (World Bank).
